There was a time when I would write these missives quite late on a Saturday night or even do them in real time on Sunday morning and immediately post it here.

That would give me an opportunity to judge the Saturday night show which was the viewing highlight of the week. Why ?. It usually featured the best girls that ETV could offer. The production team, although inconsistent, was probably the best that ETV could offer. And because a lazy Sunday would follow a late Saturday, if they got it right they could be assured of a good return for their troubles as the callers would stay up later and presumably spend more.

But today, I write this piece on a lazy Saturday morning safe in the knowledge that this will not happen. Safe in the knowledge that the cast, and no offence to those scheduled, is not the best that ETV can offer from the current Rota and more so as that Rota is diminished by several of those girls no longer in their employ.

And I am further safe in the knowledge that this will not happen because that production team en-mass is no longer in their employ.

So without seeing the show I am confident of what will happen. Not much at all. The girls will stand around waiting for that call wondering why it does not come or equally wonder where those wonderful VIPs are. Oh, there will be calls and there will be VIPs as there will always be someone. Maybe that next MUG. And the production team, whoever they are, will wonder where it all went wrong and how they can put it right next time. If indeed there is a next time.

This week we saw one example of an attempt to put wrongs right by having a themed night. And it all went horribly wrong. The girls were dressed as Greek Goddesses by damned yet they insisted that they were Angels. Huh ! Come on. Everyone knows that Angels in their heavenly form have wings and in earthly form are usually MEN (Male Except-not Naked).

The show was a repeat of a much earlier one - not the Angels & Devils one. Ok those Angels were female and they looked good naked - from IIRC May 2006 which featured Sunny, Kiara, Melisa and others. But those models had presence. They could perform. So they did not have to wait for something to happen. It just happened and with a little help from production teams that showed some vision.

Now there is no vision. If there is no VIP then little or nothing happens. While it is right to let the caller have a say in the show, that should not be the total rationale. There is a rumour that there is a director for each show. But what, I ask, does he or she do ? There is very little visual evidence of 'direction'

A look at my calendar tells me it is Saturday, February 2nd, 2008. At this time last year, E1 was already into it's second set of 2007. Ok, it seems that the cardboard cut-out phone booths were only temporary while the bed set was being constructed. Unless, of course, it was their plan to use that further (and disastrously) for Hotbird. But by the end of March/early April, we had another set - the excellent gym/shower. By the end of August, yet another set - the present one. So, in the space of 8 months in 2007 we saw 4 new sets. We have had the current one now for over FIVE months. What does that tell us ? Does it say that 2007 was such a bad time that they had to keep changing the set in the faint hope that things would pick up. It tells me the exact opposite. A channel, despite the 'changed rules', on top of it's game using the basic principle of 'speculate and accumulate'. Now, the unchanged set is just a sad reflection of the channel itself - all too stagnant. If the machine is not broken then why fix it. I'm afraid it is very broken and now even major surgery might not fix it.

While Saturday night was the highlight of the week, Friday was a problem. After a busy working week, it is typical for people to wind down, go out. In a word not spend their time in front of a tv screen. So to try and put that wrong to right they tried another older idea - to have a unique theme and run the same theme each week. This was also tried in 2006 and again in early 2007 with the 'Fetish' shows and now they try the same with a little competition for the MUG's to SMS/phone and win the models’ underwear. Of course it was no surprise that Volki won Aliyah's slip last week and maybe, just maybe, this is a genuine competition.

Damn it. What am I saying ?. Of course it is a genuine competition. I can vouch for that being the proud winner of Amber's Panties. All week I have been trying to remove them and provide them as a prize for the best piece of philosophical writing in the forum. Both outside and elmo were worthy winners but for some reason they both declined the award.

So maybe, just maybe, I must accept that I Cannot Remove Amber’s Panties and continue to write this Creative Reasoning And Philosophy until the lights finally go out.
 

I hope you are right with that super glue information, because I don’t want to imagine the other possible options for her panties being that sticky… ;-)

@HvB it must be the superglue she uses, a few models still use the Lucy Lastic panties but never get shown.

It seems you are very right about the diminishing sales volume. I have heard that the girl's salary, which partly depends on the sales (SMS, Telephones) per show, has already been cut down. Or to be more exact: the sales-dependent part is substantially lower now. That's why some models compensate with more shows per week...

The day the lights go out can’t be to far away. By looking at the number of calls and SMS, they won’t earn much with this these days. By now, the redistributors must have noticed that this ship is sinking, and I can’t imagine, that they will renew the contracts, because, in difference to you, they Can get Rid of Ambers Panties (I told you not to put them on, they’re much to small for you. So now you obviously have the same problem she has ;-). Turn to a friend with a scissor to help you out. ;-)).
 

I think you can proudly give Amber's panties to Welsh Rugby Team, that yesterday squashed England at Twickenham. :))))))))))))
