Men' s Singles :Novak Djokovic (2) won his 96th ATP tournament in career (24th Grand Slam and fourth US Open), defeating
Daniil Medvedev (3) 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-3 after 3h 17'

In the first set, the Serbian started better, breaking the Russian in the second game and maintaining the lead without worries until the final 6-3 after 48'; in the second set, balance reigned with Medvedev saving a break point in the seventh game and Djokovic canceling a 3-5 ball and a set-point on 5-6, so the set was decided by the tie-break, in which the Russian immediately took the lead 2-0 and 3-1, but Nole recovered the mini-break and went 3-3, then the two players kept their respective serves until 6-5 for the Serbian, when Medvedev committed an unforced backhand error, losing the second set 7 points to 5 after 1h 43', then the Russian called the physiotherapist to have his shoulder massaged; in the third set Djokovic again took a break lead in the fourth game, but Medvedev broke him back for the first time in the match in the next game, only to then lose his serve again in the sixth game, with Nole this time keeping the lead and closing the match 6-3 at first match point, taking home his third Major of the season after the Australian Open and the Roland Garros, in addition to the Final lost at Wimbledon against Carlos Alcaraz, celebrating in the best possible way the return at world' s N° 1, as well as avenging the defeat against the Russian in 2021, which costed him the Grand Slam, while Medvedev suffered his second defeat in the last act in New York after the one in 2019 against Rafael Nadal.

Women' s Singles : Cori Gauff (6) won her sixth WTA in career (first Grand Slam and fourth on hard), defeating
Aryna Sabalenka (2) 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 after 2h 06'

In the first set, the Belarusian started better, immediately breaking the American and moving ahead 2-0, but Gauff didn't lose heart and broke back her opponent in the fourth game, going 2-2, Sabalenka, however, continued to push, and, with two consecutive breaks, went 5-2, closing then the set 6-2 after 39'; in the second set, the Belarusian failed two break-points in the first game and then was broken for the first time in the match (with a double fault) in the fourth game, so Gauff went up 4-1, maintaining the lead without problems until the final 6-3 after 45'; the final set opened with two breaks in a row by the American, who, on the wings of enthusiasm, went 4-0, then, on 4-1, Sabalenka asked for a medical time-out to have her adductor of the left thigh massaged and, at the restart, she recovered one of the two breaks, but, in the seventh game, she was broken for the third time in the set (fourth in total) and this time Gauff did not miss the opportunity, closing at the first match point and exploding into a liberating cry, extending her streak of consecutive matches won to 12 (and 18 of the last 19) and celebrating her new "best ranking" of No. 3 in the world, while also Sabalenka, who lost her second Slam Final of the season after triumphing in the first in Australia in January, cried, but of disappointment, despite the fact that from tomorrow she will be the new world's N° 1.
