2016 FRENCH OPEN DAY 15 (LAST) :
Results Finals : Men' s Singles : Novak Djokovic (1) won his 65th ATP tournament in career (12th Grand Slam and first Roland Garros), defeating Andy Murray (2) 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 after 3h 03' In first set Djokovic broke Murray in first game, then the Scottish broke twice the Serbian and went 4-1, closing the set 6-3 after 46'; in the second Nole went immediately 3-0, Murray saved two 4-0 balls, but was broken again in 6th game and Djokovic closed the set 6-1 in 36'; in the third the world' s N° 1 broke the world' s N° 2 twice, in third and fifth game, winning the set 6-2 in 47'; in fourth Nole went immediately 2-0 and then broke again the Scottish in seventh game, Murray tried to recover till 4-5, but Djokovic closed the match 6-4, completing the "Career Grand Slam". 2016 FRENCH OPEN DAY 14 :
Results Finals : Women' s Singles : Garbine Muguruza (4) won her third WTA tournament in career (first Grand Slam title and first on red clay), defeating Serena Williams (1) 7-5, 6-4 after 1h 44' In first set the Spanish was the first to break in fifth game, but the world' s N° 1 managed to break her back in 8th game, then Muguruza made the deciding break of the set in 11th game, closing 7-5 after 57' and after saving 2 break-points; in second set there was three consecutive breaks in the first three games (2 for Muguruza and 1 for Williams), the Spanish was very calm and kept the advantage till the end, while the American seemed very nervous; on 3-5 Serena saved 4 match-points, but Muguruza was able to close the match on 10th game, bringing the trophy back to Spain after 18 years and next week she will become world' s N° 2.
