I still have a VHS cassette from Roxy music - Total Recall. A History 1972-1982 with some nice rare live and television footage. I discovered them only in their later mainstream-phase, but worked I was lucky enough to see Roxy Music live shortly after their first album was released and yes, the early days were when they were at their best. Eno's departure heralded the end of Roxy Music in my mind. He was the only one able to keep Bryan Ferry in check, so when he left the change to backing band, as in Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music, soon took place. As you say, he has collaborated with and produced some big names in music as well as creating the 'Ambient Music' genre. One of his lesser known, and somewhat annoying, contributions was the Windows95 start-up tune I could post a whole string of his [excellent] tracks, maybe I will in time, but here's a rather obscure one:- |

I discovered them only in their later mainstream-phase, but worked my way backwards and then listened to a lot of Eno´s stuff, with Fripp, Manzanera or Bowie, plus some of his Ambient projects. Weird but great and (amongst others) giving birth to what is today the 'Electronic' genre |
