It's strange that we have no general discussion of something we listen too most days
I'll start, I guess I listen to music each day and the radio channel I am stuck with are 6 main tunes When I was younger we had countless songs and less about advertising rights and basically less bu**sh*t. Who sucked the life out of music and radio? Today we have drones churning out shit. WTF happened. We have hundreds of songs created each year and we end up with what the media tells us is good. PS. I saw a pic of Bieber and thought it was Miley Syrus Rant nearly over. Life as been sucked out of media! Early music video example. T'es ok! What happened to a bit of fun???????????? |

I think is the opposite movement, radio stations according to labels, pass always the same 5/10 songs in a day, so that u'll buy that ones, if u give many alternatives people will buy many different songs (luckily everyone has his own tastes), if u don't give alternatives u'll buy ohnly the played ones. When i go to work in my car i listen radio no more for the songs or the genre played, but for deejays |

A great song full of power and melodic but to hear almost nowhere concerning German radio. The station of Radio 21 is an rare exception and that makes it for one of my top three stations of Germany.
and here two more examples from this great band "VOLBEAT" they are from Denmark. Enjoy and Musical Regards Well, the Internet opens possibilities so much |

The commercial radio stations have their spies overall radio country and so they know exactly what to have to play even if it looks for a lot of people like a loop of five, ten or at maximal twenty songs in a circle. Concerning me I play my own songs and listen radio not so often nowadays. Yes we have some special very good radio stations in Germany but they aren't receivable in the whole country except via internet. When I'm driving from my main apartment to the auxiliary one [and back] I pass three federal countries of Germany [North Rhine Westphalia, Lower Saxony and Saxony Anhalt] and all of them have their own stations. The most of them play the same songs again and again but some exceptions exist and they are very good. From North Rhine Westfalia [Well they are still some steps behind the two followers] [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] Lower Saxony and This is one of my top three stations of overall Germany [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] Last but not least the one of Saxony-Anhalt but it can be improved, there is still some space open to go upwards [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] Hey I just got an idea. Let's start LSTV-Radio Have A Nice Advent Time |

While at work two days ago, there was a mistake of changing the radio station. It was less commercial that played music from the 60's through to today and no actual repeats through the day! Most people where singing along to the music and some even kind of dancing Basically, happy people
Yesterday, we was back to the same five songs of shit. I was seeing grey people who just looked pissed off with life. Two days ago at work, the people broke the record for productivity and was given free coffee and a piece of cake has a thank you yesterday. Yesterdays productivity was back to normal!!!!!! I concluded that the company don't want us productive too many times PS. Even the younger workers where enjoying the music the previous day. |

Personally speaking we've had some great bands and music and not so good music throughout all the decades. I like to preserve the great moments from the past but also keep an eye on the latest breakthru acts. My alltime favourite band is Queen, I have all their VHS's CD's and DVDs as they've always been a band that has fascinated and interested me, they were unique and so versatile, every Queen song was different but yet it still maintained that Queen sound.
I also have a heavy interest in Jazz and Blues and love watching artists such as Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and ofcourse Stevie Ray Vaughan. I also love a really good big band. I love all styles of music and have never ever put myself into any sort of category. I loved Nirvana and Metallica in the 90's but I also really enjoyed the clubbing scene too. Basically anybody who has a melodic structure to them will win my approval. What I do despise however is manufactured pop bands and artists and in particular I have a real hatred for that twat Justin Bieber and all boybands Strangely though girl bands don't seem to bother me too much which I know is double standards on my part but Little Mix are hot as fuck I will continue to keep an eye on the music charts as you just never know when the next legendary band is unearthed however I fear that manufactured pop acts are flooding the industry to a point where real talent is sadly being drowned out Some of my current favourites at the moment are Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora and Charlie xcx 3 hot women who are not only unbelievably great looking but also very talented songwriters. I also have something of a soft spot for Lady Gaga, she is really eccentric and the music industry without her would be a lot more quieter. I'd be willing to bet that if the great late Freddie Mercury (would probably be called sir by now I'd imagine) were still around then a collaboration between these 2 would have been an absolute cert |

Yes always the same shit over and over again, at work or at the gym always the same songs all the day, many of them i don't even know who is singing .
Now we have just media products without any talent and just few decent singers, if you look back at what was the music in the 60s, 70s and 80s you just feel very sad and nostalgic. |

I made MTv awards example but you can talk of any radio, few years ago every station had his soundtrack, talking in big every country had his stars and hit song, when i was 20/25 i was happy to listen when i was abroad to know what were the hit in that country, when i do it today i can't find any difference between a french, italian , spanish or english (i ve not been in germany recently), same songs , same singers same decision to make u listen only one thing, what labels decide.
It's the same for pop, rock or hip-hop, the only possibility is finding something new on the net. P.s. anyway i'll try that link posted |

Yes daz, you´re right. I´m lucky with my work.
But it seems, that the stations playing the music the public want to hear: mainstream. Always in mind thinking about the young people, who buying the records, clothes, games etc. Same happens on tv. Many shows are garbage, but (how it seems) the big crowd want to watch it. It´s maybe the handicap of getting old. |

LeahLuv wrote:Hey guys, i´m not full agree with your opinions. Your point is fair Leah but, when your at work (and not the Boss) you are stuck with the local radio station that churns out the same 4 - 5 songs per hour. They have a break once in 8 hours of maybe playing something that is not commercially based. That is the point of my rant. Having a choice would be heaven PS. Bieber is one of the 5 |

Hey guys, i´m not full agree with your opinions.
Yes, the 80`s was fun and colourful . But it was all the same too! Same clothes, same sound and same haircuts. If we look at the early 90´s, Grunge. I love Pearl jam, but same clothes & haircuts. Today the music is more serious ...I think, but there are great bands /musician too. And nowadays you have more opportunities too find them. Internet / webcast: you can find great music stations with no commercials and bullshit all over the world. I´m always listen @work/@home internetradio like [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] Great new music, rock/indie/electronic. Every decade has his own sound, clothes & haircuts, but you will find in every decade also great music/bands, musician. And yes, Justin and miley don´t belong in that category. |
