Re: Curious things that I like

Hi Friends, Unigate Electric milk float. having spent a few years delivering milk
this vehicle was the same as I used to work from also same company!! It had 36
batteries 18 each side... top speed around 25km an hour, not fast but very
good for the job it had to do! sometimes the power ran out forcing a tow home
back to the depot!! a head wind would slow it down also! not good in ice covered
roads as it only had one"Drivewheel" on the right rear wheel! I also without the
Manager knowing, moved furniture with it quite handy sometimes other than
delivering milk!! It had to be recharged 5 hrs each day best regardsSmileSmile

privately owned by quite a few people including Pete Waterman

refit now costs well over a million Euros!! not a cheap hobby to
keep in beautiful condition!!! With kind regardsSmileSmile

Re: Curious things that I like

The Leaning Tower of Pisa (Italian: Torre pendente di Pisa) or simply the Tower of Pisa (Torre di Pisa) is the campanile, or freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa, known worldwide for its unintended tilt to one side. It is situated behind the Cathedral and is the third oldest structure in Pisa's Cathedral Square (Piazza del Duomo) after the Cathedral and the Baptistry. The tower's tilt began during construction, caused by an inadequate foundation on ground too soft on one side to properly support the structure's weight. The tilt increased in the decades before the structure was completed, and gradually increased until the structure was stabilized (and the tilt partially corrected) by efforts in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

Re: Curious things that I like

Hi guys and bigalathome,

This ship here is the Batavia.

Batavia was a ship of the Dutch East India Company (VOC). It was built in Amsterdam in 1628, and armed with 24 cast-iron cannons and a number of bronze guns. Batavia was shipwrecked on her maiden voyage, and was made famous by the subsequent mutiny and massacre that took place among the survivors. A twentieth-century replica of the ship is also called the Batavia and can be visited in Lelystad, Netherlands. Thanx Wiki Smile
