I had to download a file last night, and it came from this place :
[Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] I've never used them before, never even heard of them, but I was pretty impressed. The file I was downloading was just under 400mb, and as a free user it was too big for a single download, so instead the file was zipped and split into 4 pieces, 3 100mb parts and one smaller. I presume this zip and split was done on the server end, the uploader simply upped the complete file, and premium users can download it in one go. I downloaded the first part, then had to wait 45 minutes to get the next, and so on, but the download speed was most impressive, probably the fastest download I've seen for a non-premium account in years. Premium is pretty cheap as well, $6 for 30 days, $15 for 90 days. Might be worth investigating more closely if people are looking for hosters still. munch |

brudgon wrote:done what's the max upload speed of your internet connection and what's your curent upload speed? the current upload speed should be the same as your max upload speed. since most other file hoster were should down / closed their services the RS upload is slower than in the past. if the upload is too slow you should stop the upload and start it again. at RS and oron is an upload speed with ~1Mb/sec possible. PS: no need to think about encoding as you aren't encoding own vids anyway. encoding is the "making of a vid" with using a codec to lower the file size. |

Encoding is formating the video into a proper format to download it later, or so.
I'm not an expert either, maybe someone is able to help?
