Confused I always find a white page. Envy

It's in a public folder and I have plenty of download traffic left for today,15gb,so it should work. There have been 785 downloads so far and no PMs to me saying there's a problem.RS had an hour of downtime yesterday when lots of screwy things happened, that may have something to do with it.

I have tried with Firefox and IE, let's check with Chrome.

Appartenly a problem for many Italian users (all of them?), as you can also see from their Facebook page: [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig]
It doesn't work for me either.

Have seen yesterday that MU is coming back as [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig] Maybe they arew in the air already. Is that better than RS? I am not sure, I am not a wizzkid in computers. I hope you are.

This is being discussed here: [Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig]
It is however incorrect to say that "MU is coming back" as this service is very different from a "mass" file hoster such as Rapidshare and Mediafire.

This "Mega" is more catered to single users and is meant to be an alternative to Dropbox, Box and similar services. For free users it gives 50GB of storage, which is a lot if you only need to save a few backups but next to nothing if you upload lots of videos.

Re: Rapidshare changes?

This new folder permission change on 15th has caused more than a few problems.
Personally for me I've been through and reset all my folder permissions to what I expected them to be (some had been changed by them it would seem).
My problem is that the "root" folder which doesn't have the ability to set priviledge doesn't seem to work for many people - if you leave a file there and post links for others to download, some will work fine and for others they'll get the denied error message similar to "Download permission denied by uploader. (0b67c2f5)"
So for now I'm having to put all uploads into a folder to ensure Public downloads will work.
I'll be staying with RS though as I was thinking about the new mega service, but it isn't anywhere near enough storage, and larger amounts are way over the odds when compared with some other providers.

I'd like to specify that this is what is causing problems to many users (especially that "permission denied by the uploader" one), here you can read a thorough explanation by Rapidshare about this:

[Versteckter Link - Registrierung notwendig]

Basically all unlabeled folders are automatically and by default set to "private" (Rapidshare's reasoning being that by default the safest solution is to put everything private and let users decide what to make public, not the other way around) and must be manually reflagged as "public".

I verified, they didn't give me a Premium account for free...Big Grin
That's part of their new terms of service, nothing special. Sometimes I don't get maximum speed, but usually >500kB/sec which is probably a matter of traffic at RS.
But the problem is the traffic limit.
As I only have a free account there's a traffic limit of 1GB per day (for Premium it's 50GB), means if others have downloaded 1GB of my files (which is 4-10 downloads depending on file size) nobody else can download any of my files that day.
Therefor I changed to Depositfiles which is rather slow for downloads without premium account, but doesn't have such a limit, so my filers are always accessible.
