Thanks, Elmo. Using that site I've managed to manual tune and get back Polonia and Kultura, but still no sign of Arte. I searched under the frequency you gave and managed to tune in something called Art Network and Arte Channel, but I don't think either of those are the Arte I used to have. I think it's the Arte Français that you mention, but when I search under 11623/11681 it doesn't show up. Any ideas?

Thanks. I'm going to do another scan now and see exactly how many I get.
Well somehow on my last scan I'd switched the options to 'fta only'. I changed that back to 'all' and got somewhere in the region of 620, but still no sign of Atre, TV Polonia and TV KUltura. One thing I don't understand with my limited knowledge of satellite television is what transponder I'm supposed to search on. Under this option it will say something like '12654/27500/HOR' or '12520/27500/VER' as I flick through them all, the 'quality' meter at the bottom will go from very low to very high. The 'strength' meter stays at a stable 80+ I just choose one that increases the quality meter reading (presuming this is best) and search under that, but I don't really know if I'm searching under the correct transponder or not. |

Losing about half your channels is quite serious but may be a pointer.
There are 101 Hotbird transponders and they alternate between Horizontal and Vertical polarisation, giving approximately half of each. Are all the missing channel on the same polarisation? If so this could indicate a problem with the LNB or polarisation switching signal from the receiver. |

If the signal level is low also check the wiring and the connectors of the antenna,
maybe damaged wire or corroded connectors. Regards Joker |
