Finally, Goth Latte is a thing and it will match your Dark Soul ... Ever wanted a caffeinated beverage that looks as misanthropic as you feel? Then you're in luck, because the Goth latte is here. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] It's made from the crushed souls of dead unicorn lattes and it's just as dark as your cold dead heart. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] OK, so that's not totally true. They're actually made from activated charcoal, an ingredient that's a lot healthier than it sounds (or looks for that matter). [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] Charcoal is thought to help rid the body of unwanted substances because toxins get trapped in its millions of tiny pores, so even though the Goth latte looks like something only the devil would drink, it might in fact be kind of good for you if consumed in the right quantity (just don't tell anybody). They've so far appeared in cafes in the UK and Australia, but we're sure it's only a matter of time before they arrive at your local coffee shop. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] Would you drink one, guys? |

Owner surprised after taking her cat to a groomer ... Meet Jin Jin, the Persian kitty who recently became the victim of one of the most epic hairdresser mishaps ever. As is quite typical with long-haired cats, Jin Jin’s owner Xie Qian Qian makes sure the cat gets shaved every once in a while. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] This is supposed to keep the cat cool and bring less hair to the house. Jin Jin would always return from the hairdresser with an adorable lion-style cut, with the fur on his head and tail being mostly untouched. Not this time, though… [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] A few months ago, when Jin Jin was supposed to have an appointment with a hairdresser, his owner was too busy to take the kitty there and asked her friend to drop him off. When she arrived to pick him up, the woman was completely taken aback – Jin Jin’s hair was cut in a way that made him look like he was wearing a silly cat mask. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] “I was surprised the groomer would shave him like that,” Qian told The Dodo. Still, after the initial shock, Qian and her husband couldn’t help but laugh at the kitty’s new look. |

Italian mayor offers £1,700 to anyone who moves to his remote village in Bormida to stop it becoming deserted ... An Italian mayor is offering to pay €2,000 to anyone willing to move to his village to stop it becoming deserted. Daniele Galliano is trying to bolster the population in Bormida, a mountainous region in Liguria, north-west Italy, where just 394 people live. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] He has floated the idea newcomers could pay just €50 (£42) a month to rent in the village alongside the welcome lump £1,700 sum. The village has become somewhat of a ghost town as young people move out to the nearest cities to find work. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] Mr Galliano said on his Facebook page the low rent scheme could be ready to be rolled out in a couple of months and would need approval from the local council. One councillor told the Guardian: “We’re still working out the plan, but anyone is welcome to come and live here. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] “We’re a small community but very welcoming. "We’re high up in a mountain area but also not far from the sea – it’s a healthy lifestyle, the air is very clean.” [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] Mr Galliani's Facebook post sparked excitement from social media users who said they would be keen to relocate to Bormida. Man comes up with a brilliant way to escape the police ... Is this the most hilarious way ever to escape from the police, or indeed from anyone you might want to hide from? [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] While we don’t condone running away from the cops, or doing anything to make them chase you in the first place, this man’s humorous hiding place is definitely worth a watch. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] A video clip filmed in what looks like a workshop shows a man in dark overalls telling the cameraman he knows the perfect way to escape from the cops. In his hands is a piece of flexible metallic ducting pipe, often used in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. Almost as soon as the video begins, the man runs enthusiastically across the room, holds the piping above his head and lets it cascade down over his body. As if by magic, the ingenious escapee disappears from sight leaving what could be believed to be an insulated pipe sticking up out of the floor. To complete the illusion he tilts his head forward so the pipe appears to be connected to the wall. |

Arachnids team up to build 30-metre long spiderweb covering a park - as they attempted to flee flood waters ... For arachnophobes, this is exactly what nightmares are made of. But for others, a massive spiderweb that's taken over a park in New Zealand is being described as nothing short of remarkable. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] Video of the 30-metre spiderweb at Gordon Spratt Reserve in Papamoa, on the north island, has left the internet amazed - particularly after it was revealed thousands of tiny arachnids are responsible for creating it. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] The footage was shot by local Tracey Maris, who spotted the shiny white mass as she drove past the reserve on Sunday. 'The new tsunami evacuation hill was gleaming this afternoon so I went to see what it was,' Ms Maris told SunLive. 'To my surprise the entire mound was covered in spider web, with thousands of baby spiders.' The spiders reportedly use a technique called ballooning - using small strings of web to catch a ride to safety on the winds. Shooting a silk thread up into the air, it is caught by the wind and acts as a parachute as it takes the arachnids off to higher ground, saving them from rising water. |

Baby buffalo intimidates elephant at South African national park ... A baby buffalo in a South African national park was filmed facing off with an adult elephant, which backed away from the adorable encounter. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] Andrew Cohen, 29, captured video posted to the Kruger Sightings account on YouTube showing what happened when the elephant approached a mother buffalo and her baby near the Mopani camp in Kruger National Park. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] "As soon as the young buffalo caught glimpse of the elephant, he charged towards him and had the ellie pedaling backward and trumpeting," Cohen told LatestSightings.com. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] "It was a very special sighting to see because he could have easily hurt that baby buffalo. It was almost as though he sensed that this was an innocent newborn and that it didn't mean any harm," he said. "Initially, we were shocked because we thought the calf was going to be crushed by the elephant, but as it all unfolded, our emotions turned to laughter because of the fact that the elephant just wanted to get away from this little guy," Cohen said. "The sighting ended when the elephant ran away into the bush, and the cow and calf also went their separate ways." |

Travelers at a Toronto airport were surprised to be welcomed to the city by an unusual ambassador -- a raccoon poking its head out of the ceiling. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] Cameron Graham tweeted a video Friday showing the raccoon poking its head out from the ceiling over a baggage claim area at Toronto Pearson International Airport. "There he was, having a good gander at everyone," Graham, who was picking up his wife from the airport, told The Toronto Star. "You almost expected him to come down wearing a little uniform and ask to help with the baggage," Graham told CBC Toronto. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] Other passengers and their family members captured video of the raccoon peering at them from the ceiling. Pearson spokeswoman Natalie Moncur said the raccoon was again spotted at baggage claim Saturday and wildlife staff were attempting to capture the animal. Was this mysterious giant bible written by the Devil himself? The Codex Gigas, the Latin for ‘Giant Book’ is an eight century old leather-bound manuscript that is thought to have been influenced by Satan. The huge 89 centimetre tall, 49 centimetre wide book weighs 75 kilograms and is currently on display at the National Library of Sweden. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] Across its hundreds of pages include a complete version of the Vulgate Bible – the Catholic Church’s official Latin Bible – and many texts pertaining to the teaching of medicines and magic. But what has caught most people’s eye is the large, full page, colour drawing of the Devil on 577. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] The origin of the Codex Gigas is unknown, but according to stories which have been past through generations, it was written by a doomed Benedictine monk in a Bohemian monastery. It is believed the monk was sentenced to death after he broke his vows. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] In a bid to escape his fate, he told authorities that if he could write an entire book in one night that contained all human knowledge as well as praising the monastery, then he should be let off. Upon starting his task however, he realised that it would not be able to be completed in one night. In desperation, the monk allegedly turned to the Devil for help. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] According to the National Library of Sweden: “The Evil aided him, had his portrait painted in the book and asked the monk's soul in return". Tests carried out on the ancient bible have revealed that the entire book was indeed written by one person as the handwriting is consistent throughout. According to a report in the Line Up, it would have taken five years of non-stop writing to complete. The report adds: “Clearly, the author of this massive tome was possessed by something to create such a masterwork. Whether it was the power of light or darkness, is lost to time.” |

Couple stun neighbours when they take their giant lizard for daily walk on a lead ... Animal lovers John Robinson, 60, and his wife Pauline, 57, can regularly be seen taking a stroll with giant reptile Bow on the streets of Loughborough, Leics. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] They take the 17lb beast to the local park and down the shops before returning home where he likes to curl up on the sofa or by the fire to watch TV. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] Incredibly the one-year-old Savannah Bosc Monitor lizard even likes to be cuddled by John who has to wear two jumpers because his claws are half-an-inch long. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] Bow lives in a £400 custom built 8ft-long vivarium but is fully toilet trained and often left to roam around the Robinson's house and garden. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] But the couple have to constantly reassure worried dog owners that their pets are perfectly safe - because Bow is "well fed" on a diet of mice and locusts. Dad-of-two John, a retired electronics engineer, said: "People do stop me all the time to take photos, they're just gobsmacked when they see Bow. "People must think I'm mad when they see me in two jumpers carrying a giant lizard, especially when I've had a triple heart bypass. [Verstecktes Bild - Registrierung notwendig] "Bow often just crawls on me because he wants picking up. He really is just one big baby." |
