Also in my country the sex broadcasting are strictly censored ( Only our Prime minister is allowed to have every type of sex all night) but horror and violence and bad talk shows are in all TVs of my country Anyway go ahead, You have my support hoping that here a such debate can arise soon Good luck |

Seems you've been living in the land of the free and the home of the not so brave so far...
Over here in Germany stronger adult material in the web is only alowed when a strong age verification system is in place. Currently there are less than a handful AVS that got approval and they all rely on a service called post ident, which means that you have to present your ID card in person to someone verifying your age. As the name post ident says, that is done via the postal services, so the postman will be the person verifying your age. This also assures that all your neighbours know what a pervert you are ... In principle this legislation also covers all sites not located in Germany and doing business with German customers (doing business also includes showing ads and even offering for free ...). Well, if no payment is involved and such pages are legal in the country they are operated, the owner will be tried in Germany, but there will be no consequences for him unless he plans to travel to Germany one day. Could be quite funny to be jailed right away from the airport. |

Had a little celebration when it reached 200. After a slow initial take up I has thinking it would never reach 100 votes. Sad truth is that to get noticed it needs to reach at least 1,000, perhaps even 10,000. I know everyone here has done their bit, but if there are any social media sites that you could publicise it on or other websites that would help. Its not just about TV content, all across Europe the doors are swinging shut on freedom. I have just seen a proposal to ban UK websites from streaming explicit video on demand (VOD) without credit card age verification. If that gets through the loopholes will follow - non-UK sites, static photos, downloads like RapidShare. Once the machinery is in place it can be extended to other content that the Government of the day dislikes. This could be repeated in other European countries that have any form of censorship, it is based on an EU Directive. Ironic that while the Arab World gains freedom we loose ours. Sorry to get political, but lets draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough. |
